Travel Kit is an ongoing series of impromptu music making sessions at random locations. I use all sorts of battery powered instruments and recording devices and set it up in places that inspire me.
Sometimes I have programmed a sequence beforehand and record the performance, but the songs are always open-ended for exploring and improvising. The soundscape and acoustics of the surroundings form the basis for each session.
Session #1 was recorded by the seashore in Flateyri in the Westfjords of Iceland. Using only the Elektron model:samples sequencer and a Zoom H6 recorder, the project starts off with a minimal composition that evolves as it progresses.
